and there is time just to stare and marvel at the sheer beauty. This cottage is a real gem and I am sure that we shall hope to return one day soon. Barra has certainly stolen my heart!

Airport on the beach. Goodbye Barra – we’ll see you again soon!
Our first time in Barra and it certainly won’t be or last. This cosy cottage and its spectacular location have blown us way completely! We’ve been surfing with Ben from the hostel (realy fun!), had dinner at the Kisimul Café, (scallop pakoras and Monkfish curry – AMAZING!!), Castlebay Hotel does very nice food with a grand view, been to the fish factory for delicious fresh fish, across to the castle, to the museum, the Tartan Table Café [now Blasda - Tom] and watched planes taking off
at the airport – which was exciting! Having said all that, the couple of days we spent looking at the views from the cottage were just as amazing. Perhaps we need 2 weeks next time?!
I agree entirely! Even Devon (as beautiful as it is) will never seem the same again. Thank you for letting us stay in your wonderful cottage!

I’m a great believer that buildings have personalities and Harbour Cottage has a very warm and welcoming soul. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We’ve loved being beckoned out every morning by the cuckoos and entertained in the evenings by the various wildlife visiting the little harbour. The sun room is especially fine. The island is superb and very
relaxing. Our batteries are well and truly re-charged.
This place is magnificent and just what we needed – simply basic and basically simple.
Lovely old cottage, perfect size for the two of us and dogs for a week. Wonderful location on this little bay in Earsary (no otters seen). Superb wildlife everywhere – Dolphins, Common and Grey Seals, and white-tailed Eagle in and over Sound of Fuday...many seabirds/waders/shorebirds. Beautiful machair, even a few Pyramidal Orchids still out… lovely stay.
Fantastic location, sun room brilliant for bird and seal watching. Weather mixed…Dolphins playing around
Vatersay. Golden Eagles at RSPB Bird of Prey trail, Craigston – need binoculars to see them though…. Thanks Tom, cottage unique!
We’ve had the most fantastic of times and we defo don’t want to leave, the place has been so relaxing, weather been bit of everything and our daily visit from seals was god too.
