Introduction

Hebridean Cottage Holidays has been a family-run business since 1969.  We offer two self-catering cottages situated in idyllic surroundings four miles north of Castlebay.

Harbour Cottage and South Bank Cottage, originally built as croft houses, are both based right on the water's edge and command superb views across the Minch to Skye, Rhum and the mainland.

The coastland around the cottages has many inlets and sandy coves and seals frequently swim into the bay between the two cottages.  Here also can be seen herons, oyster-catchers, cormorants and  guillemots, as well as a variety of other seabirds.

A short car drive from both cottages will take you to the glorious golden sands of Vatersay, Tangusdale and Eoligarry. Barra is famed for its beautiful unspoilt views and at the Traigh Mhor you will see the plane land on the beach each day.

We are sure that you will enjoy your stay with us and we will do our utmost to ensure that you have an enjoyable time on the Isle of Barra. Your host, Eppa, will be happy to help you in any way and to provide information on points of interest locally, such as arranging visits to Kisimul Castle, ancient stronghold of the Clan MacNeil, or trips to the neighbouring islands.

Free transport to and from Ferry can be arranged if required.

The local Heritage Centre is also located in Castlebay as well as the Tourist Information Centre, Hotels, Bank, Shops, Cafe and Swimming Pool.
